Richard Allen “Rick” Leake, 59, of Ashland, died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at his residence. He was born April 9, 1960 in Ashland, the son of Margaret Avanell Gollihue Leake of Ashland and the late Stanley “Bo” Leake. He was a former Continuing Education Teacher, a writer for the Beacon and Daily Independent and a Real Estate Agent. He was a member of the South Ashland United Methodist Church where he was a drummer for the Praise Team and a member of the RefoCus Contemporary Christian Band. In addition to his mother he is also survived by his wife, Terri Leake; one daughter, Gaebriell Paulynn Leake of Ashland; three sisters, Judy Lee (Roger) Hayner of Hebron, KY, Denise Michelle Leake of Ashland and Heather Earlayne (Jay) McCoy of Christiana, TN; three nieces, Stefanie Justice, Brittanny McCoy and Kaitlynn McCoy; one nephew, Roger L. Hayner; one great niece, Eliza Justice and one great nephew, Miles Justice. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, January 27, 2020 at Miller Funeral Home by Rev. Keith Ketterheindreich and Minister Phil N. Nunley. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to South Ashland United Methodist Church, 2203 29th St. Ashland, KY 41101.
