Pauline D. Bethel (nee Halter), age 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. She was born in Glenwood, Minnesota and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1974. She previously lived in New York and New Jersey. Pauline had worked as a pre-school teacher for the Action Center in Elyria, Shepherd of the Ridge in North Ridgeville and retired from Bay United Methodist Church, in 1999. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in North Olmsted. She was involved with the Ladies Guild in the churches she had attended and was the Snow Queen at the Glenwood, MN Waterama. She enjoyed meeting with her friends for coffee, going to thrift stores and garage sales and was also an avid reader. Survivors include her son, Bill (Diana) of North Ridgeville; brother, Gayland Halter; sister, Kay (Leslie) Peterson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dell; brother, Cecil Halter; sister-in-law, Lorraine Halter; parents, Edward and Kathinka Halter. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 28081 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted. Pastor Joshua Ulm will officiate.
