Obituary Paul Francis Niemann, 78, of Burlington, passed away at 10:30 AM Friday, January 17, 2020, at the Burlington Care Center in Burlington. Born November 4, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Edward and Pauline Tomey Scott. On June 1, 1972, he married Sally Ann Berkshire in Burlington. She passed away on June 15, 2011. He worked as a custodian for American Ordinance for 30 years before retiring in 2004 and as a licensed minister for Jail Ministries in LaHarpe, IL. He was a 1961 Mt. Pleasant High School graduate. He was a member of the Parkside Baptist Church and served on many committees. He also was a member of the Teamsters Union 238 and VP of Full Gospel Businessmen. Paul attended many Promise Keeper conferences. He loved to teach about the ministry and sing, he was invited to sing at several local churches in the Burlington area. He enjoyed watching TV, reading, and studying the Bible. He played basketball in Lockridge, Iowa. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Southeastern Blackhawks, Burlington Bees, Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers. Survivors include several cousins including, Cheryl Jones of Burlington, who was also his caregiver; Bobbie Tomey of Anaheim, CA, and Norma Tomey of Burlington. Besides his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard Scott, and his beloved dog, Buddy. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to service Friday, January 24, 2020 at Parkside First Baptist Church. The memorial service for Paul be 2:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2020, at Parkside First Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Price officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery at a later date.
