Obituary Mrs. Nora Gammon Scearce, age 86, of Sandy Level, VA, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at her residence. She was born on November 20, 1933, in Pittsylvania Co. VA, to the late Claude B. Gammon and Jennie Mae Scearce Gammon. Before her retirement, Mrs. Scearce worked as a private sitter and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Bryant (Cindy); niece, Jean Cook (Robie); grandchildren, Keith Adams, David Dalton, and Christian Dalton; and special friends, Ray and Elaine Powell; and Peggy and Ken Cobb. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scearce was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Scearce; five brothers; and three sisters. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Highland Burial Park with Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating.
