Myralyn Hamilton Smith passed away peacefully at her home on January 26, 2020. She was born in Cordova, Alabama, on December 24, 1932. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of McCalla Bible Church. Myra was preceded in death by her parents Robert Hamilton and Gertie Bolton Hamilton, as well as her four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Karl Edward Smith and their children: Karla (Paul) Whitcomb, Thea Smith, Eric (Melissa) Smith, and Lisa (Tom) Hammett. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren: Nathan (Audra) Whitcomb, David (Abbi) Whitcomb, Jason (Katie) Whitcomb, Azalea (Ryan) Hulbert, Laura Smith, Megan Smith, Olivia Smith, Rebekah Smith, Matthew Smith, Trey Hammett, and Lauren Hammett, and seven great-grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family and always enjoyed being together with them. The family would especially like to thank her wonderful and compassionate caregivers for their care over these last months of her life. Burial will be at Valhalla Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at McCalla Bible Church on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 1 p.m.
