Kimball, 84, died peacefully in her Palmyra home on January 23, 2020. She was born on February 20, 1935, in Bangor a daughter of Eliphalet and Katherine (Jones) Herrick . Murlene worked many years at, and retired from, Dexter Shoe Company in 1994. After retirement, Murlene and her husband Al traveled across the United States, spent time camping in various areas in Maine, PEI, and Florida until eventually deciding to spend summers at their summer home on Lake Wassookeag in Dexter and winters in Bushnell, FL. Following her husband’s death in 2013, she settled in Palmyra and was very happy in her new community where she made new friends and was blessed to live near her beloved brother Gordon Herrick. Murlene and Gordon spent nearly every day together sharing meals, watching TV, and engaged in discussions on current events. In her last months Gordon was her greatest support. She was a devoted wife of 62 years and loving mother. She very much enjoyed the company of her family, friends, and her faithful four legged companion, Sadie Mae. She is survived by three children, Albert Kimball, Jr. and wife Roxanne of Exeter, Richard Kimball and wife Rhonda of Vassalboro and Patricia (Kimball) Fajans and her partner Michael Wood of Merrimack, NH; brothers, Gordon Herrick of Palmyra, Clint Herrick of Guilford, Vern Herrick and wife Anna-Maria of Cambridge, Eliphalet Herrick, Jr and wife Janet of Skowhegan, Wynne Herrick and wife Leslyn of Abbot; and sister Roslyn Campbell and husband Norman of Parkman; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her husband Al Kimball Sr., parents Eliphalet and Katherine Herrick; brothers Gerald and Roland Herrick; and nephews Jerry Herrick and Travis Herrick. At her request, there will be no service or calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Northern Light Home Care & Hospice, 50 Foden Road, South Portland, ME 04106.
