Mitchell Eugene Turbyfill, age 79, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2020. Mitchell was born in Elizabethton to the late Robert L. and Rosa Lee Turbyfill. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran. Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Barbara Jean Turbyfill, of Elizabethton; two brothers, Robert Charles Turbyfill and Gerald Wayne Turbyfill, both of Elizabethton; a son, Mitchell Booker; a step-son, Danny Baynes; a step-daughter, Denise Baynes Brown; two nieces, Robin Peters (Jamie) and Bethany Turbyfill; a great niece, Haley Turbyfill; a great nephew, Carson Peters; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, also survive. The family will hold a graveside service for Mitchell Eugene Turbyfill at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2020 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (New Section-215 Heroes Drive) with Pastor Gary Roe, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Bristol VFW Post #6975. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 PM.
