Mary Margret “Marge” (Dixon) Penrod passed from this form that which we call life, to fullness of life on January 16, 2020. Marge was a member of Evangelical Community Church in Bloomington, a previous member of the Presbyterian Church and The First Methodist Church. Marge was a volunteer at Opportunity House for 39 years, where she received the Life Achievement Award. In 1957, Marge was a runner up in the Singer Sewing contest in New York City. From that, she was invited to take a position sewing for the Queen of England, which she declined for family and friends. Marge was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and enjoyed helping friends, taking them to the grocery store, doctor appointments, etc. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Penrod, father, Victor “Vic” Dixon, mother, Lois Dixon, brother, Bob Dixon, and sister, Ruth Stumpner. Marge is survived by her son, Mike Penrod and wife, Kathy, granddaughter, Bethany Penrod, granddaughter, Julie Penrod, great-grandson, Nicholas Penrod, great-granddaughter, Ellie Pemberton, daughter, Sue Hickman (Penrod) and husband, Randy, grandson Jonathon Hickman, and grandson, Andy Hickman. Marge will be greatly missed here, however, embraced by Christ. Services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Opportunity House.
