The family will greet friends and visitors at a life celebration gathering from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Cemetery and Crematory. Mary was born to Rofa and Jewell (Kindred) Halliburton on October 17, 1934 in Jack Fork, Oklahoma. She graduated from Haywood High School in 1952, and completed business school in Phoenix, Arizona. She worked as a horseman’s bookkeeper in Arizona, New Mexico, and Canada. She was a bookkeeper for a bank in Oklahoma City, and in the 1980’s she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Fire Chief Freddy Sanders at the McAlester Fire Department. She was a founding member of the Rancherette’s Rodeo Club in McAlester as well as a member of both the Red Hat Society and Business and Professional Women. Mary enjoyed traveling, horseracing, and gardening flowers. She attended The Kings House in McAlester. She was preceded in death by her parents: Rofa Halliburton and Jewell Johnson and a sister: Betty Jo Halliburton. She is survived by her daughter: Johnny Carlson; grandson: Shad Kyner, both of Los Lunas, New Mexico; brothers: George Halliburton and wife, Eoline, Earnest Halliburton and wife, Catherine, Howard Johnson, Jr. and wife, Nina, all of McAlester; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends; and special close friends: Billye Faye Billingsley and husband, John of McAlester and Terry Carl of Phoenix, Arizona.
