Obituary Mary A. Totin, 90, of Murrells Inlet, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 29, 2020 at Inlet Coastal Resort Assisted Living. Mary was born August 25, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter to the late Anthony Guaetta and Santa Catanesi Guaetta. She spent most of her life in Ohio and only recently moved to Murrells Inlet a month ago. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her dear husband of 51 years, Mr. Steve Totin, her daughter Mary Ann Totin and her sisters Rose Krznar and Josephine Sanata. In her younger years, Mary grew up between Pennsylvania and Ohio and loved to go bowling. As an adult, Mary was a proud homemaker. She was known for her green thumb and enjoyed gardening and canning foods. She loved being a mom and grandma and she always made her home warm and inviting for her family. Mary always hosted holiday events and she made certain that everyone got plenty to eat. She was also very passionate about serving others. Mary spent many years working the election polls, volunteering her time in the community and was a member of the Ladies Firefighter Auxiliary in Brookfield, Ohio. Above all else, Mary was a kind and gracious woman who loved her family very much. Left behind to cherish her memory include her devoted children; daughter Gloria Devine (Timothy) of Murrells Inlet, son Richard Totin, daughter Cynthia Riccardi of Hermitage, PA; granddaughter Gina Goodyear (William) of Murrells Inlet, grandson Tyler Totin of Greenville, PA; great-grandsons William, Anthony, Dominick and Colton; great-granddaughter Charlotte Totin; as well as many supportive friends and neighbors. A memorial service will be held in Mary’s honor on Friday, January 31 at 10:30 AM at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hermitage, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be sent to the Brookfield Township Ladies Auxiliary.
