Martha’s Obituary Martha J. Matheny, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Parkersburg, WV. She was born in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Wade and Bessie Wineman Bender. She was a homemaker, a member of Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville. Martha traveled around the U.S. with her husband, Roy Matheny on construction job for several years. She had many friends and enjoyed shopping, walking and trips to Myrtle Beach S.C. Martha is survived by her three sons, Steve Matheny (Karen) of Parkersburg, Paul Matheny (Jan) of Crescent City, FL and Joe Matheny (Diane) of Walker, WV; one sister, Sandy Sidwell. Grandma Martha will be missed by her grandchildren, Scott Matheny (Gloria), Lori Longwell (James) and Stacey Bennett (J.R.); great-grandchildren, Corey Matheny, Ashley Matheny, Austin and Colby Bennett, Kara Moore, Kaci Longwell and Jo Jo Longwell; great-great-grandchildren, Laynie Moore, Addie Moore and McKenna Faith; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Roy Matheny; sisters, Doris Anthony, Violet Anthony; and her brother, Junior Bender. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, with Pastor Roger Benson officiating. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Read More
