Lois Ann Grider McCoy 84, of Columbus, KS died 1:00pm Wednesday January 8, 2020 in a car accident. Lois was born June 16, 1935 in Syliva, KS the daughter of Glenn Ivan Grider and Kathrine Mahala (Jones) Grider. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Cherokee County High School. Lois married Donald Worth West; the father of her children later divorced. She later married Gerald Zimmerman, Danny Cooper,and Tommy McCoy, who all preceded her in death. Lois worked as a self employed cosmetologist in Columbus for over 50 years. Lois was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus, KS; a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Women’s Auxillary and American Legion Women’s Auxillary; she enjoyed gardening, reading, dancing, antiquing, baking and karaoke. Survivors include her children Toni L. Gillen and husband Daniel of Russellville, TN, Robert A. West and wife Terri of Columbus, KS and Zoe L. Bemis of Columbus, KS; son-in-law Dallas Tedford of Columbus, KS; siblings Marlene Amos of Yakima, WA, Betty Jo Simone of Arizona and Wanda Haynes of Neodesha, KS; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Glenna Marie Tedford and brothers Erwin Grider and Maurice Grider. Memorial Services will be 6:00pm Monday January 20, 2020 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS with Pastor Jim Bowles officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
