Lilla (Belle) Newton Brooks of Thomasville, Georgia November 26, 1929 – December 19, 2019 Lilla (Belle) Newton Brooks, 90, of Thomasville, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her residence, with family by her side. Funeral Services will be held at First Newark Baptist Church on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Steve Brooks officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be, Derren Mills, Braden Mills, Keith Miller, Brian Miller, Chris Dusek and Mike Washington. Ms. Brooks was born to the late John Raymond Newton & Ruby Hand Newton on November 26, 1929 in Grady County, GA. She was a graduate of Cairo High School. She worked for the U.S.D.A. as a government inspector and was a member of First Newark Baptist Church. Survivors include: daughter, Jane Mills (Terry) of Thomasville, sister, Carolyn Sculley of Valdosta, GA, grandchildren, Derren Mills (Brittanney), Lori Miller (Keith), Summer Dusek (Chris), great-grandchildren, Braden Mills (Kayla), Sarah Moore, Anna Moore, Peyton Miller, Brian Miller, Brighton Miller, Madison Washington, Carson Washington, Connor Mills, and Natalie Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Brooks, son, Bill Brooks, and two sisters, Mary Moore and Dorothy Majors. Guests may sign the online register at www.whiddonshiverfuneralhome.com
