Obituary Laila Marie Anderson, 91, of W. Pierce Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away on January 14, 2020, at Lakeview Christian Home. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, located at 1302 W. Pierce Street in Carlsbad. This will occur in conjunction with the regularly scheduled worship service. Pastor Marty Singleterry will be officiating. An internment for Mrs. Anderson and her late husband Harold will be held at a later date at Five Points Cemetery in Five Points, WI. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Anderson was born Laila Jacobson on July 15, 1928 in Richland County, WI. She married Harold Anderson on June 1, 1948 at Five Points Lutheran Church. After more than thirty years of service, she retired from her occupation as a cashier with Eagle Foods. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson retired to Carlsbad, NM in 2001. Among the activities enjoyed by Laila were cooking, baking, gardening and needle work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents, and her twin brother Lyle Dahlberg. She is survived by her sister, Beverly Stephenson of Steven’s Point, WI; her sister-in-law, Beverly Lisney of Sparta, WI; and two sons: Randy Anderson and fiancé Vera Bennett (Lubbock, TX); and Mark Anderson and wife Jean (Albuquerque, NM). She is also survived by three grandsons: Michael Anderson and wife Jennifer oF Tijeras, NM; Kenneth and wife Lisa of Farmington, NM; and Thomas and wife Jennifer of Farmington; as well as two step-grandsons: Christopher Federico of Albuquerque, NM and Michael Federico and wife Tanya of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 1302 W.
