Obituary Kevin Michael Gartman, 42, of Columbia, South Carolina, went to his heavenly home on January 18, 2020 in North, South Carolina. He was born in West Columbia on January 20, 1977 to the late Roger and Carolyn Keisler Gartman. Kevin lived in Columbia, SC most of his adult life where he made his home and many cherished friendships. He was an assistant manager for Big Lots serving at several locations in his career. Kevin married his husband Daniel Traufler on January 12, 2017 and they began their new life together. He cherished his two dogs, Liam and his precious Jules, as well as their most recent addition, a cat named Mars. Kevin had a kind heart, a dry sense of humor, and an infectious smile that would light up any room he entered. He had a love for collecting antiques and other unusual auction finds. In addition to his parents, Kevin is predeceased by his cherished Chihuahua, McCoy. Kevin is survived by his loving husband, Daniel Traufler of the home; a brother, Kenny Gartman of Houston, TX; his grandmother, Hazel Gartman of North, SC; father and mother in law, Skip Traufler, Sr. and Melody; two brothers in law, Skip Traulfer, Jr. and Mike Traufler and his wife Robin, all of Columbia; three nephews, Joshua, Matthew, and Andrew Traufler; one niece, Lauren Traufler; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his family, he is survived by special friends Chuck Archie, Jay and Amanda Robinson and their son Ellis, Marshall and Beth Robinson, Emily Caskey, Susan Caskey, Gene Hiers, Natalie Kulick, and Rob and Rob Akers-Trevett. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Reformation Lutheran Church, 1118 Union Street, Columbia, SC 29201 from 3- 4 pm with a Celebration of Life following at 4 pm. Pastor Tim Bupp will officiate the service. Casual attire at the request of family.
