Kenneth Oscar Maddox, 88, husband of Sherrill “Sue” Garrett Maddox, of 835 West Bear Swamp Road, Walhalla, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Oconee Memorial Hospital. A native of Pelzer, SC, Mr. Maddox was the son of the late Earl Paul and Syble Mae Bryan Maddox. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Mr. Maddox was a self-employed cabinet maker. In addition to his wife, Mr. Maddox is survived by his son: Keith Maddox (Judy) of West Union, SC; daughters: Kathy Rowland of Salem, SC, Angela Story (Todd) of Westminster, SC and Danielle Campbell of Walhalla, SC; sister: Sandra Gassaway (Samuel) of Westminster, SC; grandchildren: Jason Justice, Caleb Story (Shannon), Kaitlin Reid (Michael) and Tabor Harden; and great-grandchildren: Kaeli Story, Ryder Story, Harper Story, Shepherd Reid and Samson Reid. In addition to his parents, Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by his sister: Mable Dyar; and brothers: Thurmond and Charles Maddox. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 31, 2020, at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 PM, Friday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted. The family is at the residence.
