Obituary Johnny Parker Waller, III went to be the Lord peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the age of 72. He was born on Tuesday, April 1st, 1947, in Corpus Christi, TX to John Parker Waller, Jr. and Sally Mangum Waller most appropriately on April Fool’s Day, always the comedian. He had one sister, Jo Ann, who he loved very much. He attended Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, and later Del Mar College, Houston Community College and the University of Houston. His inherit love of his music led him to begin playing the guitar at a very young age, and he played in several rock-n-roll bands in his teens. He also expressed his passion for music as a local disc jockey on KEYS in Corpus Christi, TX. Johnny was well known for sharing music with his family and friends by playing and singing at family gatherings and teaching others how to play guitar. Johnny served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 through 1968, during the Vietnam War era. He was a drill instructor stationed in the Panama Canal and Fort Gordon, Georgia. On February 6,1971 he married his wife and best friend of 49 years Linda Dallas. His career choices were many, but most notable was his dedication to public safety as a Fireman, Paramedic, Deputy Constable and Commercial/ Industrial Safety Manager. He always enjoyed his “work family” and was a very hard and dedicated worker. In 1987 Johnny became a Master Mason, and he is a lifetime member of the Alvarado lodge #314. He remained very close to the Lord until his passing. Johnny always strived to connect with people and somehow make them laugh or smile. He never failed to offer his wisdom and help others. He was also known for “not holding back” and “telling it like it is”. He loved to dance with any lady that would allow him to. In fact, he and Linda won several dance contests and enjoyed square dancing for many years. He also enjoyed watching football, going to the movies and his precious puppies. He was well known for being a jokester and playing pranks on his closest friends and coworkers. He will be endlessly missed by his many friends and family. He is survived by his wife Linda Waller of Alvarado, TX., his son Jerry Waller (Jessica) of Winter Park, FL. His family plans a potluck lunch at Johnny and Linda’s home immediately following the ceremony at 9032 Adobe Ct. Alvarado, TX. We will continue to visit with family and friends until late in the evening to allow those to come without missing work.
