Johnny Doyle Lail, age 76, of Catawba County passed away on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 at his residence. He was born January 2, 1944 in Catawba County, the son of the late Floyd Everette Lail and Myrtle Louise Lail. Johnny worked at Hickory Springs as a forklift operator. Most of all he enjoyed retirement but also enjoyed fixing anything that caught his attention. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Doris Loretta Killian Lail; one daughter DeAnn Lail Barnes (Chris) of Conover, one brother Floyd “Bud” Lail (Muriel) of Conover, one sister Becky Hunt of Hickory. Also left to cherish the memories of Johnny is a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 1:00-2:15 pm at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Conover, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm with the Rev. Eric Hauss officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Church Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Judes Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
