John “Papa John” A. Beoddy August 15, 1950 – January 17, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation John “Papa John” A. Beoddy On the 17th day of January in the year 2020, a husband and wife – estranged by illness and mortality have been re-united, and the souls of those who passed before once again were able to embrace their loved one as Heaven gained an angel. For those of us who continue to walk the Earth, we will begin a period of grieving for the loss of a beloved friend, father, grandfather, and mentor, but rather than morn, John would want us to take solace in the fact that he is at peace. John Beoddy is proceeded in death by his wife Linda Lee Beoddy (Collier) who passed on July 30th, 2019, and his parents John and Kathleen. He is survived by his daughters – Sherrie Lee Bryant (John McElhinney), and Bonnie Lynn Wilson (Albert Williams), grandchildren Thomas E. Bryant III (Victoria), Jennifer Theiler (Jeremy), Michael McElhinney (Hillary), Megan Wilson, Christopher Erwin, Sara Wegand (John) and Samantha Williams, as well as numerous great-grandchildren (Jordan, Nathaniel, Serenity, Ashley, Johnathan and Macie). John’s chosen profession was that of a Software Developer / Programmer. With a very specialized knowledge set, John spent a large chunk of his career as a highly sought-after programmer whose skills helped propel him to the top of his field, however later in life, his specialization would limit new opportunities. Working as a Programmer, John’s career brought him all over the United States where he spent time in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Texas, and of course, Arkansas. In his more recent years, John worked as a Delivery Driver for Domino’s Pizza. Outside of work, John had a love for reading, Science Fiction, and his cats. John was very well educated and would talk to anyone about any topic. He loved sharing his knowledge with those in his life, and it didn’t matter who you were, or what your beliefs, he would always take the time to sit down and hold a conversation with you. John’s library of books was ever-changing, there was rarely a time that he wouldn’t be reading a book or two, whether for pleasure, or on a quest for more knowledge. He loved Science Fiction and could often be found indulging in a story of the strange or unknown, whether in book form, on TV, or on a movie. No story of John’s life would be complete without knowing of his love for his cats. Throughout his life, John has always had feline companions, and in his later years, he had taken to “collecting” them as he would put it. At the time of his passing, John was also survived by his 6 furry friends, whom he took joy in spoiling. John will be greatly missed by those who remain behind; we know that he will remain with us always in spirit. John, may you live on in our hearts, and rest peacefully, know that we will remember you fondly, and anytime we see an eagle soaring through the sky, you will be in our thoughts.
