John Long, 87, of Enon passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 in Springfield. He was born September 25, 1932 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Paris Long and Laura Walker. John retired from Wright Patt and driving a school bus for the Greenon School district and was an Army Veteran. John enjoyed fishing, boxing, MMA fighting and just tinkering in his garage. John was preceded in death by his loving Wife Chorena ( Peanut )Howard Long. John is survived by his four children, Sheila and Roger Brewer of Springfield, Marty Long of Enon, Travis and Kristen Long of Arizona, Yolanda and Jason Schiely of Fairborn, brother Barney Walker of Prestonsburg KY, eleven grandchildren; Jeremy, Wesley, Stevie, Annalee, Holly, Abbey, Corena, Hayden, Ava, Hadley, Alissa, two great-grandchildren; Bryson, Harper, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Adkins Funeral Home with burial to follow in Enon Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard at the cemetery.
