John Luther “Johnny Mack” McCracken, age 53, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at his home. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Palmer C. and Cora Helen Whited McCracken. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was the owner and operator of Johnny Mack’s Posh Salon in Richlands, Virginia. He was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1984, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of Harvest Outreach Ministries in Richlands, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: James Palmer McCracken, Carolyn Louise “Jenny Lou” Kestner, Nancy Jean Anderson, Constance Sue McCracken, and Mary Yvonne Pruett. Survivors are: Brother: Jeffrey McCracken and wife, Guyetta of Rosedale, Virginia Earth Angel and Chosen Brother: Buck Sargent Special Niece: Jennifer Hendrick of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive. A host of friends, clients, and loved ones remain to carry on Johnny Mack’s spirit and zest for life. Memorial services for John Luther “Johnny Mack” McCracken will be conducted Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 7pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Dickie Plaster officiating. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm Saturday at the funeral home.
