Jessie Wantiez went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2020. She was 92 years old. She was born on December 1, 1927 in Dewar, OK (Sunrise) to Clarence Fletcher and Josie Bell Christenberry. She married November 16, 1946 to Oscar Wantiez at Dewar, OK his wife of 73 years. Sister Wantiez was a loving mother and devout Christian who really cared for her family. She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Life Church and was a Sunday School Teacher for several years when the church was formerly the United Pentecostal Church of Okmulgee and she was an apostress of the Lord of Christ. She especially enjoyed gardening, cooking, and the outdoors. She was preceded by her husband in receiving her Heavenly reward. Jessie has three sons, Oscar Dale and wife Terri of Tulsa, Pete Dwain of Odessa, Texas, and Jimmy Darl of Okmulgee, two grandchildren Pete Ryan Wantiez , and Chrystal Renea York both of Midland, Texas, four great-grandchildren Ryan Taylor Wantiez, Aubree Jolie Wantiez, Paton James Carpenter, and Chloe Claire York. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Apostolic Life Church on 1512 E. 13th St. Okmulgee OK with Pastor Steve Clark officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
