Obituary Mr. Jerry “Slink” Mosteller, age 60 of Marion, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 03, 2020, at Mission Hospital McDowell. The son of the late Joseph Edward Mosteller and Hessie Belle Vaughn Mosteller, Jerry was born in McDowell County on May 02, 1959. In his younger days, Jerry enjoyed long rides on the parkway with his wife Reba. Before becoming disabled he worked in residential construction. Jerry enjoyed helping with the food ministry at Clinchfield Methodist Church, but most of all he loved his family; especially spending time with his grandsons. Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 39 years, Reba Gallion Mosteller; a son, Joshua Mosteller; one sister, Helen Lickey, and two brothers Terry Mosteller and Teddy Mosteller. He also leaves behind his two precious grandsons, Chanceller Mosteller and Braxton Mosteller. A memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 08, 2020, at 3:00 P.M. at Yancey Street Baptist Church, where Jerry was a member. Reverend Dean Owenby will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., one hour prior to the service at the church.
