Mr. James Reginald “Reggie” McDaniel, 75, of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019. He was born on December 21, 1944 in Rutherford County. He was a son of the late James Paul McDaniel and Doris Jernigan McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Paul McDaniel. Reggie proudly and honorably served two tours of duty with the US Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He worked for over 30 years as warehouse manager for Shuford Manufacturing in Hickory. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bryant McDaniel; his daughter, Lisa Leighann McDaniel and her husband Keith, of Ellenboro; his grandchildren, Genessa McDaniel and Madison McDaniel; his 5 sisters, Dee Hardin and husband Glen, Cora Willis and husband Dennis, all of Ellenboro, Nancy Jackson and husband Franklin, and Joanne Goforth, all of Bostic, and Teresa Ledbetter and husband Roger, of Cliffside; his sister-in-law Ellen McDaniel of Spindale; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. The family will gather to celebrate Reggie’s life at a later date.
