Obituary James D. Early, 75 of Whiting passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at his residence. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Margaret (nee Mayernik); loving father of Timothy Early and James D. (Laura) Early, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Amanda Early, James (fiancĂ©e, Tyra) Early, Britney Early, Jessica Durham and Brett Durham; adoring great grandpa of Jasper Early; dearest brother-in-law of Robert (Sherry) Mayernik and Wilma (late Stephen) Mayernik; dear uncle of Kathy (Kevin) Kulesa. He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Early. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 3:30pm at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting with the Rev. Dennis Blaney, officiating; visitation a the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00pm to time of services. Interment of cremains with military honors will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 10:00am at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois. James Early was born on November 3, 1944 to James C. and Anne (Forska) Early. He was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region and a graduate of George Washington High School, Chicago, Class of 1962. Jim was a US Air Force Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict and a retiree of the American Maize Products Co. (Cargill), Hammond with a service of 33 years.
