He often talked of growing up in the depression, raising chickens in their backyard, and working at a golf course that he walked many miles to, which is now a part of O’Hare Airport. Jack was a proud American, and was fortunate enough to participate on the Honor Flight to Washington DC two years ago with his fellow veterans, a trip he loved and spoke of fondly. He was also an active proud member of the local Legion Post. Jack and Jeanne retired to their farm in Sharon, WI in the late 80’s to fulfill his dream of having horses and living in the country. In the last 5 years he was lucky enough to find the second love of his life, Phylis.
