Howard Dewey Battles, age 83 of Blue Pond, passed away January 3, 2020, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Big Rock Congregational Holiness Church with Dr. Mark Green, Rev. Jim Smith, and Jerry Battles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Rock Congregational Holiness Church or Longshore Cemetery Fund. Mr. Battles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Jean Agan Battles; daughter, Pamela Battles Flynt; granddaughter, Jenna McKinney (Chris) King; great-granddaughter, Kopeland King, as well as many nieces and nephews.
