Grant’s Obituary Grant William Carter, age 29, of Fanwood, NJ, formerly of Lumberton and Fayetteville NC, departed this life on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Grant was born on September 8, 1990 in Riverside, CA to Delia Gregoire and Michael Carter. Grant was preceded in death by his father, Michael Carter, his paternal grandfather Larry “Toby” Carter, and his paternal great-grandparents, Walter and Lolear Eddings. Grant loved nature, loved to play the guitar, the study of the cosmos and the universe, religion, faith, and spirituality, and skateboarding. Grant loved his family, he gave his heart and tried to be the best big brother he could to his younger brother, Beckham. Grant was a special person. He was funny, generous, and kind. He was always willing to help others and would give you the shirt off his back. Grant is survived by his mother and stepfather, Delia and Sean Quinn, and one brother, Beckham Quinn, all of Fanwood, NJ; along with his maternal grandparents, Rev. Gerard and Catalina Gregroire of Branchburg, NJ; his paternal grandmother, Evelyn Carter Hunt (Larry) of Lumberton; aunts: Audrey Strong of Lumberton, NC and Maria Cunniffe (Pete) and Theresa Peloquin (Joe) of New Jersey; and one uncle, Paul Gregoire (Cheryl) of Kentucky; and also Aunt Catherine Lacy and Uncle Mark Gregoire. Grant also leaves to cherish his memories his special cousins: Kevin Maynor (April) and Jason Maynor of Lumberton, NC, and Nicole and Dana Gregoire of Kentucky and a host of close cousins in New Jersey and North Carolina and other cousins elsewhere. He is also loved dearly by his three second cousins: Aiden, Jaxon, and Kendall Maynor. You can show Kendall a picture of him and ask her who it is and she will tell you “Gant”.
