Gloria grew up in Nevada, Missouri. She met her husband LeRoy Wilson there. They married on March 20, 1954. LeRoy and Gloria enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage until his death in February of 2018. Gloria and LeRoy quickly began their family and were blessed with a daughter, Jacque, in January 1955 and, a year later, a second daughter, Janet. In 1956 LeRoy & Gloria moved their little family to Texas. In 1959 LeRoy and Gloria were blessed with a third child, son, Randy. In addition to raising her family, Gloria was proud to be called “Grammy” by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Gloria was a loving and committed wife, mother and grandmother. She spent most of her life supporting her growing family and serving them. Being a mother and grandmother was one of her greatest joys. She enjoyed being involved in projects, rehearsals, games, and activities of the children and grandchildren. In the most recent years, her church community was also very important to her and being involved with them serving God. She was an avid football fan and enjoyed crafting, many times including her husband, LeRoy as her woodworking craftsman. One of Gloria’s best contributions to her family and friends was her unique love language; cooking. She would often show her love by cooking and feeding those around her. Gloria is survived by her daughters Jacque Burns and husband Bruce of Plano, Texas, Janet Davis and husband Charles of Wylie, Texas, son Randy Wilson and wife Karla of College Station, Texas. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Joe Dan and Dustin Grams, Wes Wilson, Blake Wilson, Katy Villareal, and Brady Wilson. She also had 5 great grandchildren. Gloria June Wilson will be laid to rest at 10:00 am on Monday, January 13, 2020, at the Dallas/Ft Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. A celebration of her life will follow at 2:00 pm at Woodcreek Church, 3400 E Renner Road, Richardson, Texas 75082 with Pastor Scott Stonehouse officiating.
