Mrs. Dorothy Lee Stricker Simpson, of Wilhelm Place, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Atrium-Cabarrus. Her funeral will be 2 PM Monday at Epworth United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Sonny Reavis. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 1 PM Monday at the church. Dorothy was born July 24, 1917 in Kannapolis to the late Lester M. Stricker and Frances Willard Farrington Stricker. She was also preceded in death by husband William Grady Simpson and a brother and a sister. Dorothy was a timekeeper at Cannon Mills Plants 2 & 5. She graduated from Cannon High School and attended Evans Business School. Dorothy was a longtime member of Epworth UMC. Dorothy is survived by her son, W. Barry Simpson and wife, Elaine of Concord; granddaughter, Autumn Blumenfeld and husband, Daniel; and great grandchildren, Genna and Sydney.
