Dorothy (Dottie) A. Beatty was born in Mississippi, where she lived until she was 18, at which time she moved to Battle Creek, MI and made this her home for the rest of her life. She worked for and retired from General Foods. She quietly and peacefully departed this life on January 17, 2020 at home, surrounded by family in Springfield, MI. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven L. Beatty, her sister, Ernestine Carr, and her parents, Benjamin F. and Nora Smith. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her Daughters, Kathy Beatty and Marsha Beatty-Wabindato; Son-In-Law, David Wabindato; Brother, Archie Smith; Grandchildren, Erik Beatty, Kristy Beatty and Tracy Alsbury and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service, on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Following the visitation, the family welcomes all to a cash bar and food at JB’s Whiskey, 3905 W. Dickman Road, Springfield, MI 49037.
