Donna’s Obituary Donna Mae Haage, 84, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Accura HealthCare of Le Mars. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2020 at Christ Lutheran Church – Grant Township, rural Le Mars, Iowa. Reverend Shawn Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Donna Mae Weyen was born on April 17, 1935 to Herman and Anna (Fisher) Weyen on the family farm in Preston Township, rural Plymouth County, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township, rural Plymouth County, Iowa. Donna Mae attended country school near the family farm in Preston Township. On June 27, 1957, she was united in marriage to Glen Melvin Haage at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township. Glen and Donna Mae farmed in Grant Township for a few years before moving to a farm in Johnson Township and later to the family farm in Preston Township. Glen and Donna Mae continued living on the farm during retirement. Glen passed away on March 12, 2005 and Donna Mae continued living on the farm until she moved into Plymouth Manor in Le Mars in 2017. Donna Mae enjoyed helping with the farm: making meals for everyone and driving the tractor. She loved gardening, planting flowers and sewing. Donna Mae loved spending time with her granddaughters and going to all their sporting events. She enjoyed attending the Plymouth County Fair with her children and later her grandchildren. And most recently, she loved spending time with her two great grandsons. She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church; she served on many committees for the church and enjoyed quilting at the church. Survivors include her two daughters: De Ann (Tom) Lehner of Le Mars, and Glenda (Doug) Blezek of Le Mars; grandchildren: Dana (Mike) Christen and their children Lakota and Tucker Christen of Storm Lake, Iowa, Tara (fiancé Tyler Rosengren) Lehner of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Claire Blezek of Le Mars; sister, Delores Balletti of Running Springs, California; and nieces and nephews. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Anna; her husband, Glen Haage; her parents in law: Fred and Johanna Haage; and twin infant brother, Donald Weyen. Read More
