Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 in Menifee, California; he was born on May 20, 1923 in Bisbee, Arizona to the late John and Laura (Morales) Jones. David served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a teacher for 40 years. David was a wonderful man, sharp, brilliant and loving. He loved poetry, in fact he taught poetry at Atria Senior Living where he lived for many years. He was a 3rd degree Knight in Elks Grove at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish. He is survived by his loving children and their families, Laura (Craig) Nelson, Oise (Doug) Bailey, Linda (Lori) Hunt and Darrell (Debra) Jones and his step-children, Cherri Davis, Sue Kane and Karl Wiseman; His five grandchildren, Zach, Christina, Elissa, Josh and Ian and also his extended grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Marie Jones in 2015. There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Miller-Jones Mortuary 26770 Murrieta Rd., Sun City, California 92586 from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass to Celebrate David’s life on Friday, January 17, 2020 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Sun City at 11am, with military honors to follow at the church.
