Dale Roger Kent January 20, 1933 – January 11, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Reverend Dale Roger Kent, age 86, of Mayville, MI passed away with his loving family by his side Saturday, January 11, 2020 at United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital in Marlette, MI. He was born January 20, 1933 in Atlanta, MI, son of the late Bruce Leonard and Opal Mae (Cumper) Kent. Dale graduated from Atlanta High School. After graduation Dale served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Upon discharge from the Army four months later he married the love of his life Joyce Austin on July 9, 1955 in Atlanta, MI. He was a member of New Hope Alive Church in Reese, MI. He enjoyed preaching at numerous Assembly of God Churches in Cass City, Sandusky, Vassar and Grand Ledge. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Dale enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Joyce Kent; daughter, Beverly (James) Cottrell; son, Dale Robert Kent; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; siblings, Peggy (Dwight) MacPherson, Audrey (William) Whinnery, Bruce (Donna) Kent, Billy (Diane) Kent; and several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his brothers, Willard J. Kent and Fred C. Kent; and sister, Barbara J. Austin. The family will receive visitors from 3 – 8 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Avram Funeral Home in Mayville and 10 AM until time of the service Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at New Hope Alive Church. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at New Hope Alive Church 2200 S. Reese Rd., Reese, MI with Pastor John Terry officiating and Reverend Jeff Hlavin officiating. Burial will take place at West Dayton Cemetery, Mayville, MI. Memorial Contributions may be made to New Hope Alive Church in Reese, MI.
