Bertha M. Chaney age 73, of Lima passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born December 1, 1946 in Lima to the late Thurman Lloyd and Ethel Elizabeth Chaney Hight. Bertha enjoyed doing puzzles, watching TV and playing Canasta and Solitaire on POGO. Survivors include children: Doyle William (Diana) Chaney of Lima, Glen Patrick Chaney of Lima, Julia Elizabeth (Dominic Berkowitz) Lamere of Long Island, Matthew Mark (Gayle) Chaney of Lima and Paul Arthur Chaney; siblings: a twin sister, Maryann (Harry) Yagerman of Lima, Hazel Eleanore (James) Moneer of Lima, Glen (Wava) Cotterman of Lima and Mark D. (Katherine) Cotterman of Cridersville; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings Larry Cotterman, Gary Hartzog and Harriet Zackrich. Family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 28th at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 11 with Rev. Mark Hollinger officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Bethlehem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Bayliff & Son Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
