Barney Lee Hill, 78, of Denton, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020, at New Hope United Methodist Church, Denton, with Pastor Derrick Britt and Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Barney was born on March 30, 1941, in Randolph Co., NC, to the late Valon Carr Hill and Dellie Mae Russell Hill. He was a self employed poultry farmer. He enjoyed riding around on his golf cart and spending time with his grandson. He loved his Lord and talking about Him to anyone. Barney also loved going to eat at Rick’s Restaurant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ben Hill, Walter Hill; and sister, Ruthie Yow. He is survived by his wife, Doris Frazier Hill of the home; daughter, Cheryl Hill Britt and husband Derrick of Denton; sisters, Rachel Brinkley and husband Richard of Asheboro, Wilo Dean Powell and husband Troy of Denton; brothers, Hoyle Hill and wife Marcella of Denton, Johnny Hill of Denton; and grandson, Darren Britt of Denton. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020, and other times at the home.
