Barbara Ann Ryan, 65, of Greeley passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. She was born December 20, 1954 in Greeley to Oliver and Phyllis (Aufrecht) Swanson where she grew up. She graduated from College High School and received her Bachelor of Education from UNC. Barbara taught elementary education in South Dakota, New Mexico and Nevada before retiring after 29 years. She married Rob Ryan and he preceded her in death. Barbara loved to play cards and games, quilting, sewing and attended events at New Hope Church with her caregiver Susie Gonzalez. She loved collecting cookbooks, singing and having coffee at the Paragon with her Bible Study friends. Survivors includer her sister, Connie Cannone; nephew, Richard (Ruth) Nehrboss and their children Richard, William and Claire, numerous cousins including Jim Beattie and her beloved poodle, Zozo. She was preceded in death by her parents. A gathering will be held on Friday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. at the Adamson Reception Center where you can share a special story. Memorial gifts may be made to the “Weld County Humane Society” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
