Anne’s Obituary Mrs. Anne B. Long, age 70, a resident of Washington, NC died Wednesday January 22, 2020 at her home. A graveside memorial service will be held 1:15 p.m. Saturday January 25, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery of Washington officiated by Pastor Phillip Jethro. The family will receive friends 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home. Mrs. Long was born in Norfolk, VA on August 1, 1949 daughter of the late Charles Frank Brantley and the late Zelda Rae Brantley. She was a 1967 graduate of Aurora High School and earned her associate degree in business from Beaufort County Community College. On November 26, 1967 she married James Reide Long who preceded her in death on April 16, 2015. Mrs. Long worked as the office manager for Gilko, Inc. of Washington before her retirement. First and foremost, she loved her family, especially her sons and grandkids. She enjoyed reading, the beach and shopping for antiques. Survivors include two sons: James Todd Long of Wilmington and Kevin Scott Long (Christina) of Washington; three grandchildren: Seth, Brantley and Sanders Long; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Sikes of Virginia Beach and special friends who she considered as her family: Wayne and Patricia Leggett of Raleigh.
