Allan’s Obituary Allan Matties, 70, went to be with his Creator on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. January 22, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Burial will be held at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Center. Allan was born in New Rockford, ND, on July 26, 1949 to Norman and Wilma (Helm) Matties. He graduated from Center High School in 1967. He served as an Army medic in South Vietnam. Allan worked for the Peer Review Organization and at various hospitals as a Quality Improvement Director. He enjoyed being with family and friends as they were scattered throughout the state. Allan also enjoyed fishing, playing pinochle, dancing (he always danced with the ladies in really odd places such as Menards, Wal-Mart, and grocery stores). He was never without his music (he said it scared away the vampires). He was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the North America Fishing Club. S Allan is survived by his daughter, Andrea (James) Cunningham, Beach; his son, Aaron (Hollie) Matties, Washburn; seven grandchildren, Brandon Matties, Lucas Flegel, Haley Matties, Seth Flegel, McKenna Bostock, Lila Matties, and Elora Cunningham; one great-grandson, James Matties; and a sister, Connie Davis, Aransas Pass, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents. In remembrance of Allan’s life, the family invites you to wear either New England Patriots or Chicago Cubs attire. Read More
