Alan’s Obituary Alan R. Waddington, 63, of Assumption, died January 7, 2020. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020 in Memorial Presbyterian Church, Assumption, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Rosamond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond, IL. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Central A&M FFA. Alan was born June 18, 1956 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Marion W. and Shirley (Robb) Waddington. He was a member of Pana Masonic Lodge AF & AM #226, Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine, Christian County Shrine Club and Shelby County Shrine Club. Alan was a farmer, loved John Deere and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed travelling to Key West and listening to Jimmy Buffet. Surviving is his mother, Shirley of Assumption, IL; son, Robert A. Waddington of Moline, IL; daughters: Erica (Mike) Rettig of East Moline and Nicole Steffes of Moline, IL; grandchildren: Charlie, Leo, Jack and Milo Rettig of East Moline, IL; brothers: Tracy (Colleen) Waddington of Beardstown, IL, R.D. (Jill) Waddington of Assumption, IL and Larry (Stacey) Waddington of Shelbyville, IL. Preceding him in death is his father. Read More
