Alan C. Franklin, age 58, of Mount Carmel, passed away on Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2020, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Alan was a resident of his home in Mount Carmel for over 12 years and previously resided in Danville. He was born on Monday, September 18, 1961 in Nanticoke, a son of the late Clifford A. and Helen Ruth (Chapin) Franklin. For many years, Alan was employed by as a laborer for several area businesses and last at Danville Auto Auction. Alan enjoyed spending his time cooking, gardening and he especially loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Alan was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth W. Franklin in 1971. Survivors include his seven siblings, William A. Franklin of Danville, Raymond W. Franklin of Mt. Carmel, Thomas P. Franklin and wife Deb of Danville, Donald L. Franklin, Sr. of Mt. Carmel, Hazel R. wife of Frank Heddings of Danville, Mary L. wife of Thomas Heddings of Danville, and Sara L. Heddings of Mt. Carmel, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg. Funeral Services will begin on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Harry H. Wonderland, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Scott Cemetery, Huntington Twp. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Franklin family.
