Shirley Ruth Gibbs September 12, 1943 – December 8, 2019 Shirley Ruth Gibbs, 76, of Lawrence, Mississippi, died Sunday, December 8, 2019, at her home in Lawrence. She was born Sunday, September 12, 1943. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home-Forest. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be at Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Forest is in charge of arrangements. (601) 469-1941 She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Gibbs and her parents, Brooks and Bonnie Mae Ellis. Survivors include her son, Shannon Gibbs; one grandson, Brooks Gibbs (Leah Prescott); siblings, Robert Ellis and Sarah Summerlin. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hunt, Timothy Ivey, Mark Williamson, Kasey Bridges, Jamie Bridges, and Sean Boatwright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Graham, Tanner Clanton, and Deven Alexander.
