Mary Ann’s Obituary Mary Ann Keeney, 85, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Friday, December 27, 2019 at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to the Sweet Springs Historical Society and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com Born February 15, 1934 in Kansas City, MO, she was the daughter of the late Estill Miller and Mary Irene Swartzel Miller. Mary Ann lived in Sweet Springs most of her life where she was a 1951 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. On April 17, 1958 she married Rolland M. Keeney who survives of the home. Mary Ann worked at the doctor’s office in Sweet Springs, prior to her marriage, and then was a homemaker for her family. She was also well known for her talent of refinishing furniture for many years. Mary Ann was a member of First Baptist Church, Sweet Springs Historical Society, and served on several boards and committees in the community through the years. In addition to her husband, Rolland; she is survived by one daughter, Lisa Thomas (Mark) of rural LaMonte; five grandchildren: Morgan Smith, Austin Thomas, Cole Thomas, Ethan Smith and Erin Smith; two great-grandchildren, Brody and Emmy Thomas; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Paul and Brian; a brother, Jimmy Miller; and a half-sister, Norma June Stigall. Read More
