Jack L. Moore, 69, of Columbus passed from this life at 9:36 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Mr. Moore was born August 30, 1950 in Franklin, the son of Curtis and Edna Wilkerson Freese Moore. Jack retired from Cummins Engine Company in 2016 after 47 years of service. He was a member of St. John’s Mason Lodge #20, American Legion Post #24, Columbus Moose Lodge #398 , and Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #741. He had a passion for music and enjoyed attending car shows and his annual trip to the Indianapolis 500 Carb Day. Survivors include his sons, Jason (Jennifer) Moore and Barrett Moore of Columbus; granddaughter, Savannah Moore of Columbus; brother, Curtis Moore Jr. of Columbus; his companion of several years, Sue DeClue; and a half-brother, Marvin Freese of Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and two sisters. The funeral will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to time of service Monday at the funeral home. In keeping with the families wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
