Rufus Henton Hester, III, age 60, of Rome passed away Tuesday November 19, 2019 at his residence. Rufus was born July 24, 1959 in Floyd County a son of the late R. H. Hester, Jr. and Lucile Barnes Hester. He attended West End Baptist Church, and was employed by Mohawk. Survivors include his daughter, Kristill Hope Hester, granddaughter Paw Paw’s girl, Keyanna Renee Dublin, brother, Tommy (Shirley) Hester, sister, Paula Hester, several nieces and nephews also survive, and two crazy dogs, Zoey and Little Bit. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday November 22, 2019 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Greg Montgomery, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P.M. Thursday November 21, 2019 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165. Pallbearers include, Barry Brumbelow, Mike Nelson, Willy Bunch, Dana Skelton, Donny Williamon, Kenny “Crash” King, Mike “T-Cup” Moore, honorary pallbearers, Randy Wiggins, and Doug Calloway. Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
