Ruby’s Obituary Ruby Elizabeth Crosby, 87, of Bessemer City, passed away on November 11, 2019, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. She was born April 10, 1932, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Ray Ellis Self and Mildred Huss Self. Mrs. Crosby was a member of First Baptist Church of Bessemer City. She loved painting, drawing and enjoyed cooking. She loved being involved with her late husband in the Lions’ Club functions. All services will be private. Mrs. Crosby is survived by her daughter Deborah C. Blake and fiancé Kenneth Earls of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Wendy Hartnett and husband Vernon, George Blake and fiancée Amanda Scott; great-grandchildren, Lilith Scott, Sara Soto, Kristopher and George Hartnett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Crosby; sister, Mary Lou Self. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lion’s Club International 300 W. 22nd Street Oak Brook, IL 60523 – 8842.
