He was born June 23, 1964 in Huston, TX to Holland Hughes and Annie Martin Hughes. Buck worked as a tile mason for many years until ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed Alabama Football and it’s rich traditions and enjoyed sharing that love with family and friends. Buck was an avid fisherman and spent countless hour in the lakes and ponds of south Alabama and northwest Florida catching large mouth bass. He love getting together with family especially family cookouts. Buck had a love for life and a love for getting things done. He was preceded in death by father, Holland Hughes; mother, Annie Jackson Hughes; sisters, Sarah, Brenda, Charlene and Karen Hughes. He is survived by son, Jonathan Hughes, daughters, Kimberly Sorrells and Jeffery Evans, Kayla Sorrells and Phillip McKinley, Kelly Sorrells and Adam Granger and Katherine Sorrells, brothers, Tony, Randall and Steve Hughes, sisters, Jan Huckaba, Genella Owens, Frances Hughes, Mavis Austin, Lynn Hughes and Tammy Ray, grandchildren, Paul Olan Cook, Jadin Northern, Blake McKinley, Vanessa Granger, Zoey Golloher and Jacob Granger. Buck is also survived by the mother of his children Loretta Hughes. Funeral services for Raymond (Buck) Hughes will be 3PM Friday August 16, 2019 at Evans Funeral Home with Jimmy Watson officiating.
