Patricia Elaine Miller, age 64, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019, in Mesquite, Texas. She was born April 22, 1955, to Billy Eugene and Patricia E. Underwood in El Paso, Texas. She was a 1973 graduate of Terrell High School and went on to earn her Master’s degree in education from Texas A&M Commerce. She served her community for over thirty years as a teacher, with most of that time being spent at Ruby Shaw Elementary. Throughout her time as a teacher, she touched countless lives. In retirement, she enjoyed helping numerous dog rescues and spending time with her family and animals. She is preceded in death by her father, Billy Eugene Underwood and her brother, David Underwood. She is also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Amy. She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Miller; her mother, Patricia Underwood and sisters Sharon Skinner and husband James, Deborah Underwood, and Robin Wardle and husband John. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews; Rebecca Vasquez and husband Juan, Teresa Berry, Matthew Martin and wife Tiffany, David Kirklin and wife Brandi, Dustin Underwood and wife Chrystal, and Danial Underwood and wife, Chrystal Brimhall; as well as numerous great nieces, nephews and her cousins. She is also survived by her ex-husband, Kerry D. Miller, and best friends Liliana Franco Ramirez, Juan Ramirez, and Jonathan Ramirez. She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Sheldon and Shirley. There will be a small family memorial on November 9, 2019 in Quinlan, Texas. A larger memorial in Mesquite for friends and former students will be announced later when the family has had time to heal from this sudden loss.
