Obituary Mary Elizabeth Willis Bickham known to all her friends as MamaDuke, the daughter of James Willis and Tonnette Elizabeth Wallace Willis was born on March 30, 1926, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She departed her life at We Care Hospice on November 18, 2019. She was preceded by: her father, James Willis; her mother, Tonnette Elizabeth Wallace Willis; her daughter, Myrtle Willis Hayes; and all her seven siblings. She attended Pascagoula Negro High School. She was employed at the VFW Club and The Progressive Club in Pascagoula where she was an amazing bartender until she retired. After her retirement, she became a dedicated senior companion at the Jackson County Civic Action. At a very young age, Mary accepted Christ and was a member of St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church in Pascagoula. Where she was the oldest member until she was called home. She leaves to cherish: one daughter, Shirley (Edward) Polk of LaPlace, LA; two devoted granddaughters, Marion (Pooh) (Joseph) DuBose-Knowles and Toscha (Charles) DuBose both of Moss Point, MS; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; a host of nephews and nieces; and a special friend, Ms. Melva Chapman of Pascagoula, MS.
