Obituary of Jean A. Olson Jean A. Olson, 79, formerly of Jamestown passed away Tuesday (November 12, 2019) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing, Gerry. A lifelong area resident she was born June 18, 1940 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Ralph and Grace Patton Whitcomb. Jean was a 1958 graduate of Bemus Point High School and in earlier years was employed by Jamestown Public Schools. Prior to retirement she was employed by Lutheran Social Services. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed camping at Allegany State Park with her family, swimming, bowling, golfing, dancing and anything fun. She was a member of the Jamestown Ira Lou Post 149, American Legion Auxiliary, War Vets Recreation and Celoron Moose. Surviving are three children: Steven (Kim) Olson, Kristine (Raymond) Taylor all of Jamestown, Bruce (Jacki) Olson of Falconer; four grandchildren: Nicole Oste, Ne`Keisha (Robert) McAdoo, Ne`Kyle Taylor, Tylar Olson; six great grandchildren: Katelyn, Nicholas, Alexandra Oste, Liam and Elliott McAdoo, Kylee Talyor. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Allen W. Olson whom she married August 2, 1958 in Bemus Point, who died February 13, 2015; a brother Royce Whitcomb and two sisters Ruth Braley and Nella Logan. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Dan Bender chaplain of Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing will officiate. Inurnment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
